In many ways I enjoyed Disney Springs more than some of the parks themselves. It's where we went after the parks closed and we ate many of our meals there.

On our first night in Orlando we headed for Disney Springs to have dinner, followed by the Cirque de Soleil

show. Sadly, this is the last year (2025) Cirque de Soleil will be performing at WDW after a 20 year run.
It was a fantastic show that kept your eyes riveted to the stage during the entire production. There's no word yet on what Disney is planning on replacing Cirque de Soleil with.

PLANET HOLLYWOOD

The old Disney Springs Planet Hollywood underwent a complete redesign in 2017 and is now called the Planet Hollywood Observatory. It isn't until you are seated that you really see the dome in full, which is a massive 4500 square foot video wall on which snippets of movies are projected.

They kept all the Hollywood memorabilia (3 floors worth) and I think we spent more time looking at that then we did actually eating.

We ordered the LA Lasagna - pasta tubes filled with ricotta cheese and Bolognese meat sauce, then fried to a golden brown and served with roasted garlic cream and tomato basil sauce.

It was good (and filling) but nothing to rave about.

If I had one criticism of Planet Hollywood it's that the tables are so close together and it's very noisy.

I'd signed up for the Planet Hollywood VIP program so had gotten a discount through one of their deals on our dinner.

I was glad we didn't have room for dessert after seeing their desserts, or I would have had 50 more pounds to walk off just from one of their sundaes alone!

Planet Hollywood is located at the Town Center of Disney Springs. Reservations are recommended.

Price Range:  $$ ($15 to $34.99 per adult)

HOUSE OF BLUES

House of Blues was our favorite restaurant in Disney Springs and we ate there more than once using our restaurant.com coupons for all but free meals. They have a made-from-scratch, Southern-inspired menu and a miix of American and International Dishes.

The offerings are broad, including fabulously savory sounding things like cajun crab and artichoke dip, crispy catfish fingers, shrimp and crawfish etouffee, cajun meatloaf, creole seafood jambalaya, and white chocolate banana bread pudding.

Lunch/Dinner A la carte, $$ – $15 to $34.99 per adult

House+of+Blues+Orlando.webp

House of Blues has its own outdoor concert venue right next door to the restaurant, that has a "hangin' out at the local bar" feel to it vs. a concert venue.

Although we didn't go to their concerts, we did hear music playing both times we were at House of Blues but it wasn't overpowering, more like background music.

Next to the restaurant they also had a kitschy gift shop they call the Gear Shop, with statues of the Blues Brothers.

(No Disney merch!)

The Gear Shop

There's also a small stage inside the restaurant.

House of Blues is one of those places you will definitely not leave hungry. Their portions are enormous.

Service was outstanding and even when there was a crowd we never waited long to be seated at our table.

Their beef brisket and BBQ bacon burgers were amazing. Definitely give House of Blues a try if you're in Disney Springs!

RAGLAND ROAD IRISH PUB

Of course, being Irish we had to check out Ragland Road Irish Pub! Although we didn't dine there, we did stop in for the music, Irish dancing and an order of soda bread.

However, the diners I spoke with said the food was pretty good.

The decor is great too in that all of the decor was shipped in from Ireland.

Ragland Road is located at the Landing in Disney Springs.

Reservations are strongly recommended.
