Branson may not have the glitz and glamour of some of the more well-known cities on the list, but it’s a great family destination if you’re looking to save money. In addition to having one of the lowest costs for an inexpensive meal, it shares honors for the cheapest one-way transportation tickets with Jackson Hole, St. Augustine, Albuquerque and Huntsville.
-
Average hotel price per night: $57
-
Meals for a family of four per day: $184
-
16 one-way local transportation tickets: $16
-
Total cost for a week: $1,801.33
For a lesser-known city, Branson holds its own when it comes to family-friendly attractions. Some of the six major kid-friendly attractions in the city include the Promised Land Zoo, Branson Ferris Wheel, Branson Veterans Memorial Museum, Branson Coaster, White Water water park and Branson Dinosaur Museum.

Know that Branson was built to be a tourist trap. You have 2 options when deciding where to stay during your trip. You can stay in an area outlying Branson itself OR you can book a hotel right on The Strip (Hwy. 76) so that you're within walking distance of The Strip - as this is where all the attractions are for the most part.
What you DON'T want to have to do is drive The Strip any more than you absolutely have to. It turrns into a parking lot, especially during tourist season. See the line of cars in the photo below that stretches as far as the eye can see. You don't want to spend half your trip sitting in your car.

DON'T get in a hurry when driving. You're in the Ozark Mountains so the roads are up, down and very winding. This is especially true if you're driving up to Branson from Arkansas and/or driving in the dark.
DON'T purchase tickets to a show until you've thoroughly read the reviews for that show.
There are some really good shows in Branson and there are some really lousy shows. We found the best shows tended to be artists you've likely never heard of performing their own content/music - not a band of imitators performing the songs of the original band they're imitating.
DON'T make the mistake of thinking "Branson is the Las Vegas of the Midwest!" It's not. The only thing Branson has in common with Vegas is they both have a lot of shows. Unlike Vegas, Branson is very family oriented.
You aren't going to escape the tourist trap atmosphere of Branson so just GO ALL IN and explore what Branson has to offer!

Branson and its surrounding areas has just about any kind of accommodations anyone could want.
If you don't want to be in the middle of tourist season crowds and the commotion of The Strip, then I advise booking accommodations outside of Branson itself.
If you want to be in the heart of all the action and commotion, then book accommodations on The Strip itself so that you're within walking distance of most everything.
HOTELS ON THE STRIP IN BRANSON
A mom of 5 kids sent me this accommodations recommendation for families with kids:

Grand Country Resort offers a unique vacation experience, with free water park access to guests, restaurants, go-karts, mini-golf, arcade, shows and shopping all in one place. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. If you want a little privacy, your kids will love their new clubhouse rooms, complete with bunk beds and a flat screen TV for their enjoyment.

Be sure to check their Vacation Packages page for special discounts! And if you sign up for their FREE Platinum Club members receive special discounts and offers that are never published online.
The Grand Resort also has 3 different restaurants you can dine at.
Other Branson Accommodations

We don't like being in the middle of all of the Branson commotion so we stayed at Harrison RV Park & Cabins in Harrison, Arkansas. It was only a 40 minute drive to Branson. It was a beautiful RV park with plenty of amenities.

This will be a longer itinerary in order to illustrate everything Branson has to offer. You can choose what you'd like to see and do in Branson and adapt it to your own itinerary and how many days your trip will encompass.

Check into your accommodations and get settled.
When you're ready, begin to explore downtown Branson.
There are 2 sections of Branson - the Historic Downtown and Branson Landing, and what is known as the "Entertainment" district of Branson.

Take A Trolley Tour of Downtown
Ride Sparky is Branson's FREE trolley that operates in downtown Branson.
You can hop on from any of the 12 stops and travel easily through downtown, including Main Street, Branson Landing and the Branson Convention Center.

Hours of Operation:
9 a.m. – 6 p.m., 7 days a week (March-Dec.) 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Weekends (Jan.-Feb.)
No service Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day
Downtown Branson is easily walkable as well. Branson’s Historic Downtown is the oldest part of the city and is home to several hundred stores and attractions.
Downtown is a shopper's paradise. There are some shops and attractions you don't want to miss!
Our favorite store was the 5 & 10 dimestore.

Dick’s 5 & 10 has been a downtown landmark for more than five decades. The store is one of the last remaining examples of the American mercantile tradition of downtown “five and dimes.” Like so many of its long-lost contemporaries, Dick’s has a little bit of everything. The store is open 7 days a week and features more than 50,000 different items, including old-time candies and toys, unique Branson souvenirs, collectibles, housewares, inspirational gifts and more.

Peter Engler Designs features the amazing works of more than 150 artists and artisans. You’ll see many examples of wood carving, pottery, wood-burning, and custom jewelry. The store unveiled the first in a series of Branson historical ornaments. Paying tribute to its namesake, artist Peter Engler with “Pete’s Place,” there’s an area just for woodcarving supplies and classroom instruction.
If you hit the studio at the right time you may even catch some of the woodcarvers at work.
In my neck of the woods we have many proficient woodcarvers...yet Peter Engler Designs had the most beautiful and intricate wood carvings I'd ever seen!

Locals and visitors alike flock to 417 Vintage Market & Supply Co. for vintage home decoration inspiration, boutique and thrifted clothing, and a coffee/lunch break at their beautiful coffee shop, Commercial St Coffee. Unlike many antique stores, 417 Vintage Market does not limit vendors' to a designated booth space, instead they merge all vintage items together to create a whimsical atmosphere. You'll feel like you're walking through a real-life Pinterest store. We got "lost" in that real-life Pinterest store for over 2 hours, just browsing!

As it's name implies, this store has flags, more flags, and even more flags! In fact, the Flagstore has the largest flag selection in the region and has a significant flag selling presence on the internet as well. American flags and every United States’ state flags are available in a variety of sizes. This store offers historically significant versions of U.S. flags, decorative flags and more.
Dice & Dine
Afternoon: Want to do something completely different for lunch? Pop in to Dice & Dine.
103 S Business 65 • Branson
We had a blast having lunch at Dice & Dine! For just $5, you get all-day access to their massive board game library—one of the biggest in the Midwest. (And it's HUGE!)
Order your lunch off their menu and play a game while you eat. We teamed up with other patrons to challenge other 'teams' of patrons and spent a good portion of the afternoon there, playing games. Made some new friends in the process! We'd never had such a good time for $5!
Looking for more? Join Dice & Dine for epic trivia nights, immersive mystery games, Magic: The Gathering events, D&D meetups, and family-friendly game days. It's the most affordable attraction in Branson, perfect for locals and tourists alike.
It's just a really cool place if you want to do something different for lunch or dinner.
Ride the Branson Scenic Railway
Enjoy a 40-mile round-trip ride through the Ozark foothills and tunnels.
Through bridges and trestles, you will learn about the area’s history. Embark on a journey back in time with rail travel. Just one block west of Lake Taneycomo, you’ll find the historic 1905 depot in downtown Branson.

Fares vary by season and class of car you choose. See fares here.
The entire experience at the depot and on the train is roughly two hours in length. It is required that guests arrive approximately 40 minutes prior to their listed showtime. This allows time to park and check in at the depot. Trains begin boarding at showtime, and the train ride itself is one hour and fifteen minutes in length.
The Landing
Branson Landing...Where Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment Take Center Stage! You will have a whole new world to explore with over 100 specialty shops and restaurants. Don't miss Branson Landing's $7.5 million water and fire spectacular located in the middle of Town Square! It's beautiful at night!
Branson Farmer's Market

Visit the Landing on a Tuesday if you wish to shop the Farmer's Market.
Branson Farmers Market at Branson Landing starts Tuesday, May 5th, and runs through October 27th. It's every Tuesday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Bringing the best locally grown produce and unique, handmade products to Branson, Missouri. Located in Branson Landing’s South Parking Lot next to Bass Pro Shops.
Branson Boardwalk
Palace Social on the Boardwalk
7D Dark Ride Adventure

We stumbled on the 7D Dark Ride Adventure while exploring the Boardwalk and decided on a whim to give it a try.
7D Dark Ride Adventure is a game that’s not for the faint at heart. This state-of-the-art shooting game has seven dimensions, including wind, sound, and movement, that gives it a beyond real experience.
This unique experience combines a video game with a movie and adds a thrilling ride for good measure!
The XD Dark Ride Experience is an immersive, high-tech attraction that combines the best elements of a video game, a movie, and a thrill ride. Upon entering the attraction, guests are strapped into a seat and given a laser gun. They then don 3D glasses and are transported into a digital world where they must fight their way through waves of enemies. Thanks to cutting-edge motion technology, the attraction simulates the movement of a real roller coaster, giving guests an adrenaline-pumping ride that they won’t soon forget.
I know we won't soon forget it in that we liked it so much we rode it 3 times!! Definitely something your older kids would like!
Aquarium at the Boardwalk
One can scarcely miss the giant octopus looming over the Branson Boardwalk, marking the location of the Aquarium at the Boardwalk.
The Aquarium is the main highlight, featuring over 250 species of aquatic animals including sharks, rays, seahorses, and sea turtles. Visitors can enjoy a 5D submarine adventure, explore the Jelly Infinity Room, climb a 16-foot kelp forest, and interact with touch pools containing starfish, crabs, and rays. The Mermaid Palace and Shipwreck Cove offer immersive photo opportunities and educational experiences about marine life.

Evening: Dinner at Saltgrass Steak House. 801 Branson Landing Blvd, Branson. $$-$$$
Saltgrass Steakhouse is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner with a couple, family, or group. The service is very professional, and the steaks are fabulous.
Our filets were excellent: juicy, tender, full of flavor.
Very little wait time for our food and our server was really on top of her game, even suggesting things we should see in Branson.
Great location on Lake Taneycomo. If weather permits, sit on the back balcony overlooking the lake.
As a bonus we discovered the steak house was part of Landry's Select Club - which I belong to - so we got a discount on our meal.
Prices were right even before the discount.

Morning: Breakfast at Billy Gail's.
5291 State Hwy 265, Branson

Go hungry! The flavored sweet cream pancakes at Billy Gail's are a full 14 inches in diameter and one of their breakfasts is called "The Belly Buster" if that gives you an idea of the size of their portions.
They don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait.
(There are 2 Billy Gail’s restaurants in Branson and this is the one at the Branson Mill which does have a large seating capacity and plenty of parking.)
Our meals were tasty although neither of us could finish our food.
Wait staff was efficient and welcoming. $$-$$$
Silver Dollar City
Silver Dollar City is one of America’s most unique and celebrated theme parks. Blending award-winning roller coasters with artisan crafts, live music, and historical theming, this 1880s-style Ozark village delivers immersive entertainment for all ages. It’s a must-visit for thrill-seekers, history lovers, and families alike.
I liked this amusement park far better than Walt Disney World! The only tough part is walking uphill and downhill most of the time. You need to pace yourself in this park.

Marvel Cave
A Marvel Cave tour is included with your admission ticket.
If you're in good physical condition, be sure to tour the cave.
(Not recommended for people with heart or lung problems, back problems or joint problems.)
Tours take place throughout the day, weather permitting.
The theme park was literally built around the entrance to Marvel Cave, upon the foundations of a genuine 1800s mining town - Marmaros.
You'll descend over 500 feet to the cave and enter the Cathedral Room. The breathtakingly beautiful Cathedral Room is the

largest cave entrance room in the United States. The visitors' trail consists of stairs and ramps.
The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes, with most of that time spent descending and climbing stairs.
Luckily you don't have to climb back out. In 1957, cave operators installed a unique cable train designed to take cave visitors up the half mile, 1070 foot climb back to the surface!
The Cathedral Room itself is worth seeing. Do bring a jacket as the cave tends to be cool.
Money $aving Tip: Until May 31, 2026 you can get unlimited access to the park with a $99 discounted pass - which is nearly the cost of a one day pass to the park!
Plan to spend all day at Silver Dollar City...then cap off your evening with a dinner cruise on a paddle wheeler.
Silver Dollar City Showboat Dinner Show

Cruise the waters, dine on a three-course meal and be entertained by a live show! The largest ship to be built on a land-locked lake in the U.S., the Silver Dollar City Showboat cruises the pristine waters of Table Rock Lake. The 700-passenger paddlewheel riverboat, built to recreate the magic of showboats that entertained crowds in the 1800s, offers multiple lunch and dinner cruises throughout the year.
With seating available on all three floors of the ship, guests have the choice of being up-close to the entertainment or having the stage in full view where performers will captivate the audience with music, comedy and magic for all ages.
After the three-course feast, guests are given the opportunity to mingle with performers and explore the ship’s lounges, promenades and decks while admiring panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape before the main show.

Enjoy family-style seating and a delicious 3-course meal topped off with an out-of-this-world vanilla creme cake made from scratch by Silver Dollar City's very own bakers drizzled with triple-berry sauce, whipped cream & fresh berries.
The diner cruise was so relaxing and the perfect way to end our evening.

Morning: Breakfast at the Branson Cafe.
120 W Main St Branson, MO

Established in 1910, Branson Cafe proudly holds the title of Branson's oldest restaurant.
Winner of Best Breakfast in 2022, 2023, and 2024, served all day!
Try the Breakfast Skillet or any of the delicious family recipes. Also serving Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, beer, and wine.
The menu is straightforward traditional breakfast with better than expected mini pancakes as a sub for potatoes and scratch made biscuits that are huge, airy and flaky. Prices are very reasonable.
The Titanic Museum
3235 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson

Being the Titanic aficionado I am of course we had to see the Titanic attraction.
Explore over 400 authentic artifacts, from personal belongings to grand architectural pieces, as you walk in the footsteps of passengers and crew.

This exhibit was one of the better Titanic immersive experiences I've had. Step back in time and experience what it was like to be a passenger on the Titanic. Walk the hallways, parlors, cabins, and the Grand Staircase.
Upon entering, each guest receives a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger or crew member. Discover their fate in the Titanic Memorial Room, where 2,208 names line the historic wall.
The Grand Staircase is constructed from the original Harland & Wolff plans. Walk the same elegant steps as passengers once did.
A visit to the Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri is self‑guided, so you can pace yourself, but most visitors spend about 1.5 to 2 hours exploring the main exhibits. On slower, more immersive days, you could easily spend 3+ hours.
Be sure to check out their Special Exhibits!
Adult tickets start at $39.99 - $46.97 with taxes and fees. Reservations are required to secure your preferred date and time.
Afternoon: Lunch at Gettin' Basted. 2845 W 76 Country Blvd Branson, MO.

Hands down the best BBQ in Branson in our book. (50+ Grand BBQ Championships to their name and counting!)
We had St. Louis ribs and the brisket. Both were over-the-top perfection and the portions were large.
The food was packed with flavor--perfectly smoked meats, great seasoning, and sauces that actually complement instead of overpower. Portions were solid, and everything came out fresh and hot.
The atmosphere had that classic Branson BBQ vibe--casual, welcoming and just a great place

to sit down and enjoy a meal. Staff was friendly and kept things moving without making it feel rushed.
Hollywood Wax Museum
Stars from around the world and different points in history have found a home at Branson’s Hollywood Wax Museum. Come take a selfie with some of your favorites!
While Branson visitors may arrive wanting to see fabulous shows featuring world-class performers on the stage, they probably don't expect to get up close and personal with the likes of departed stars of the screen such as Charlie Chaplin, John Wayne, Michael Jackson, and even current celebrities like Johnny Depp, Simon Cowell, and Lady Gaga.
Whenever someone visits Hollywood Wax Museum, that's exactly what they discover during their visit. With 15,000 square feet of iconic movie scene displays and actors/actresses from every decade, visitors can take photos with lifelike wax replicas of their favorite Hollywood stars while they learn their background and little-known facts, including pet peeves and favorite foods. But the fun begins even before entering the building!

One of the most photographed Branson attractions since its 1996 opening, the Hollywood Wax Museum—located right in the heart of the Entertainment District on Hwy. 76—features its very own version of Mt. Rushmore, "Mt. Hollywood," and includes sculpted faces of four Hollywood greats: John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and the King himself, Elvis Presley.
Also featured on the outside of the building is a New York City skyline attacked by none other than the largest primate in the Midwest, King Kong. With these iconic displays, it is easy to spot Branson’s Hollywood Wax Museum.

This attraction isn't just a museum of wax replicas, it offers interactive fun for visitors as they can hug their favorites, smack the villains, walk the red carpet, marry a heart-throb, sit on a bench next to Forrest Gump, or even venture down the Yellow Brick Road. The choice of photo ops are endless!
The Hollywood Wax Museum offers realism like none other. Visitors are often astonished at the detail of figures such as Elvira, Gollum, and the crews from Star Trek and Baywatch.
A group of talented Hollywood Wax Museum artists bring the creation to life with vibrant colors and costumes. In fact, it takes seven artists three months of collaboration to create each figure found in the museum.
Before they leave, visitors should take advantage of the Studio Store where they can shop the largest collection of celebrity souvenirs and memorabilia in the Midwest.
Next-door attractions included in the Hollywood Entertainment Center include Branson's Castle of Chaos, the world's first 5D ride and game, as well as Hannah's Maze of Mirrors, which invites visitors to find their way through hundreds of mirrored archways in their quest to save Princess Hannah from Ugly Hetty's spell.

Admission fees vary by attraction.
Money $aving Tip: Currently the website is offering an All Inclusive Pass for unlimited play at all of the 4 attractions for $39.99 for adults and $22.99 for kids. This is only $5 more than ONE daily pass to the wax museum only costs!
Evening: Cap off your day by attending Dolly Parton's Stampede. 1525 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson.

-
Our own Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
-
Hot Buttery Biscuit
-
Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken
-
Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork
-
Buttery Corn on the Cob
-
Homestyle Mashed Potatoes
-
Stampede Signature Dessert
-
Unlimited Coca-Cola®, tea or coffee
For guests with special dietary needs, vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available upon request at the time of reservation.
The food was really good, much to our surprise!
Owned by superstar Dolly Parton, this 35,000 square-foot arena is home to one of the best dinner shows in town. The night begins in the saloon, where appetizers and cold alcohol-free drinks start the evening alongside a raucous opening act. Next, you are off to the auditorium for the big show (complete with 32 horses) and a four-course meal.
And this year they've added something new so that you're actually getting 2 shows in 1 - a pre show featuring live bluegrass and country music in the Saloon.
If you'd like to meet the horses before the show you can do that too.
They offer 4 different ways to see the show, including exclusive VIP Admission complete with a cast meet-and-greet and more, so your ticket price will depend on which of the 4 options you choose. See the 4 different options here.
Prices range from $73.10 for the value experience and seating to $118.44 for the VIP package and first row seating. Pricing includes taxes and fees.
Money $aving Tip: If you're military, phone (417) 336-3000 to book your tickets. Military members receive a special discount unavailable online.
P.S. They add a bit of friendly "competition" to the show in that when you arrive, you choose your side to cheer for - North or South.

Table Rock State Park

Pack a picnic lunch if you like because today we're off to Table Rock State Park for some R&R and fun!
The park is handy if you are seeking outdoor adventures. If water recreation is what you desire, State Park Marina rents everything from ski boats to paddleboards and offers all the supplies you will need for a day on the water, whether it is a relaxing day of fishing or an exciting day of skiing. For land-based activities, take a hike or go for a bicycle ride on a paved trail or a challenging mountain biking trail.
Numerous picnic sites are scattered near the lakeshore. An open picnic shelter, perfect for family reunions and get-togethers, can be reserved by contacting the park office. Although there is not a designated beach, you can swim in several areas of the park.
We began our visit with a leisurely bike ride down the Table Rock Lakeshore Trail.

The Table Rock Lakeshore Trail is a 2.2 mile, asphalt trail which runs from the Table Rock Project Office and Dewey Short Visitor Center grounds to the Table Rock State Park Marina. The trail is open to foot traffic, wheelchairs and bicycles. Trail amenities include water fountains, restrooms, benches and bike racks. The trail also offers beautiful views of Table Rock Lake. There are glades and dry woodlands on the upper side of the trail with oaks more than 200 years old. The trail will take you by the Showboat Branson Belle and through Table Rock State Park, ending at the marina.
This really is an easy, gorgeous trail to ride or walk! It will take you 1-2 hours to do the entire trail, depending on the pace you set for yourself. Lots of free parking at the Dewey Short Visitors Center.
After our bike ride we stopped for a swim to cool off and for lunch, stopped at one of the picnic areas.

Picnic areas with tables and outdoor grills are located throughout the park. There are restroom facilities and playground equipment nearby. Some facilities are offered on a seasonal basis only. There is no charge for the individual picnic sites, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Swimming is not allowed near the marina or the boat launch. Swim at your own risk.
State Park Marina
Located at 380 State Park Marina Road, Branson, this marina offers bike rentals for men, women, and children, plus safety helmets. It’s on the lakeshore and provides access to the 2‑mile Lakeshore Trail.
Bike Branson

There is no admission fee to enter Table Rock State Park. The park is open to the public year-round, and you can enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, boating, swimming, and picnicking without paying an entrance charge.
Evening: Dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. 2821 76 Country Blvd, Branson. $$-$$$

Seriously, one of the best steakhouses we've ever eaten at during our travels.
Steak was flavorful, juicy, and the steak knife went through it like butter. Jay's a bit of a steak 'connoisseur' and he barely said a word during dinner - too busy chowing down on his steak. He said it was perfectly seasoned and expertly grilled.
Be sure to add Fire-Grilled Corn on the Cob to your dinner - Fire-grilled sweet corn topped with housemade crema and seasoned Parmesan cheese. So good!
Haygoods

Branson offers dozens of different live shows - some really good, some really not good at all. We discovered the best shows were original artists putting their own content out there - not the numerous imitators of other musicians and/or bands. You really have to read the show review thoroughly before purchasing tickets to any show.
One of the most popular shows is the Haygoods.
Since 1993, this group of six siblings has been entertaining Branson showgoers. The five brothers and one sister in the troupe started out as children performing six shows a day at Silver Dollar City. The family opened their own show on the Branson strip in 2001. Over the years the Haygoods' show evolved with unique takes on classic songs, more than 20 instruments, distinct harmonies and modern dance moves.
Today, their high-energy shows are filled with elaborate, state-of-the-art special effects. Audiences will be blown away by the laser light show pyrotechnics and full-stage immersive projection screen, as well as the instruments and costumes that light up with LEDs and fiber optics. The mastermind behind many of the show's special effects is Michael Haygood, who is known for entering the theater from the ceiling with a jetpack that he developed himself. Other musical stunts include performers playing instruments in an LED-illuminated robotic suit or doing a tap dance routine while suspended upside down.
Local tip: The theater is designed so that every seat has a great view of the stage, and booster seats are available for children. Don't hesitate to book the balcony seats, as they also provide great views of the special effects. Book directly with the box office to personalize your experience with birthday announcements, anniversary announcements and other special events.
The show lasts approximately 2 hours and is appropriate for all ages.

Morning: Have breakfast at Jackie B. Goode's Uptown Cafe.
285 State Hwy 165, Branson

We had no complaints whatsoever with our breakfasts, they were delicious.

Fritz's Adventure
This multi-dimensional family attraction brings all the thrills and challenges of outdoor adventure indoors. Fritz’s Adventure's three stories of challenges and adventure are waiting to be explored.
Yep, kids can even fly a plane! (So to speak)

It started with a question: Where could a construction dad put together all the things his kids loved to do? If it was fun, it went on the list—and that list became Fritz’s Adventure!
Evening: Dinner at Pasghetti's. 3129 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson
You're going to love this family and budget-friendly restaurant! Your kids will love it even more!
Not only is their front entry surrounded by the world’s largest fork and meatball, but the inside actually shocked us as well!

Stepping foot inside Pasghetti’s will be a dining experience like none other. Arrive early to beat the crowd!
J&B in the Hills made the following video but I wanted to show you this place on video...
Pasghetti's (I love that name!) is family owned and what we've discovered is that family run establishments usually have stellar customer service - and that's certainly true of Pasghetti's!
Yes, you will have 7 different dining rooms to choose from. We chose this one, we loved the 1920's Little Italy look of the room.

Here's the really cool part...not only can you eat at Pasghetti's, you can ride their indoor Ferris wheel they had specially made to fit in their restaurant! They also have an arcade game room to keep the kids occupied while you relax with a drink.
If you’re craving Italian food, you’ll find anything that you want on Pasghetti’s menu.

If you’re craving truly delicious Italian food when in Branson, Pasghetti’s is where you need to go. Hands down, it’s full of extremely tasty food, great customer service and a pride in what they’re doing and bringing to the community of Branson.
And what kid wouldn't like a restaurant with its own Ferris wheel that serves pasghetti?! This 'kid' did!

Afternoon: Grab some lunch right in the park's Food Truck Park. Food trucks are BIG in Branson. I like them because you have a great variety of food to choose from and the prices are most often reasonable.

One of my favorite food trucks, Tacos 248
Tacos 248 is about authenticity, offering traditional Mexican street food made with love and passion. Beyond their delectable tacos, Tacos 248 offers other Mexican street food favorites like quesadillas and burritos. Each item is crafted carefully, ensuring a satisfying and fun food truck experience!

Morning: Breakfast at Farmhouse Restaurant.
119 W Main St, Branson
This turned out to be my fave Branson restaurant. Not only was the food good, I loved the decor and vibe of the place.
Drinks served in Mason jars? Bring it on!

Everything was superb and they had these clever hand towels hanging all over the restaurant. (They have a gift shop too.) $10 each. I think we spent more time reading hand towels than we did eating!
And you absolutely have to order their cobbler! It comes ala mode in assorted flavors and is to die for.
Farmhouse Restaurant hit a home run in my book.
Adventure Seekers

Shepherd of the Hills

5585 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson.

Yes, Shepherd of the Hills has a mountain coaster and zipline to entertain the kids but that's not why we visited Shepherd of the Hills.
To truly appreciate Shepherd of the Hills, one must know the story behind it.
Before the lights and the glitz and glamour, a shepherd walked these hills.
Weary and spent, the shepherd paused in the Ozark mountains and as he sought healing in the fresh, clean air of the hills – fueling the creation of “The Shepherd of the Hills” book.
The novel celebrated the essence of Mutton Hollow, Branson, which would later have an incredible impact on the United States and also birth Branson, MO’s history as we know it.
Harold Bell Wright loved the simple, country folk of the Ozarks. He especially connected with John and Anna Ross who would become the inspiration for Old Matt and Aunt Mollie Matthews, who play a key role in The Shepherd of the Hills. Wright would often camp outside their homestead, sit on the lookout mentioned in the book, and dream up the story of joy and sorrow, hardship and love, violence and restoration, that would become the first novel to sell one million copies in the United States. Wright dedicated his novel to his wife.
Harold Bell Wright
After The Shepherd of the Hills was published in 1907, readers began to flock into the Ozark hills to experience the breathtaking views and endearing characters that Harold Bell Wright immortalized in his novel. Wright had written Shepherd in a spirit of awe at the beautiful work of his Creator, and it was this spirit that drew people to Branson. That same spirit is still alive in the people of Branson today.
After John and Anna Ross passed away, a feisty young woman named Elizabeth McDaniel purchased the homestead. A wealthy banker’s daughter from Springfield, Missouri, “Miss Lizzie”, as she was known, loved the book. She lived in Old Matt’s Cabin for a time before having her home moved from Springfield, Missouri to the homestead – not an easy feat in the 1920’s! Miss Lizzie was a visionary, and the one to host the first reenactments of the book, right on the lawn of Old Matt’s Cabin. It is said that she would ride the country side-saddle, would wear the latest fashions, and could cuss like a sailor. Today, her home houses the ticket office.

Why am I telling you this story? Because Shepherd of the Hills is an outdoor theater.
The Historic Shepherd of the Hills Epic American Tale is the action-packed live reenactment of the famous historical novel by Christian minister, Harold Bell Wright.
Over 90 actors and actresses, horses, sheep, mules and donkey’s perform on a stage the size of a football field. There’s a shoot-out, the actual burning of a log cabin, a love story, a mystery and a moral message that is as true today as it was over a century ago.
Over 8 Million Tickets Sold! This is a must-watch show in Branson, MO, you don’t want to miss!
We did the Ultimate History Package because we wanted to make an entire afternoon and evening out of everything Shepherd of the Hills had to offer:
